Follow-Up Guidelines
- When to Apply: Use this strategy whenever a lead stops responding, typically after 24 hours of no communication.
- Stay Objective: Life happens—people forget or get caught up with other things. Don’t take it personally; just follow up.
- Prioritize Calls: Whenever possible, opt for a quick phone call over texts or emails. It's easier to address concerns and answer questions directly.
- Persistence Pays Off: You’ll close more deals by being assertive and persistent, even if it feels aggressive, rather than being passive and non-persistent.
- Never Stop Following Up:
- Ryan Serhant (real estate agent) followed up with a lead every Thursday for 7 years without a reply. When the lead finally responded (after claiming to be "busy"), Serhant closed deals for $16 million and another for $30 million for the client’s ex-wife.
- I've closed deals with leads that ghosted me for months. One example: After following up 32 times with no response, the lead finally answered, and I closed a $44k deal.
- Be Everywhere: If the lead doesn’t respond after 3-5 attempts via text, call, or email, explore other contact methods.
- Try reaching them on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or even their office phone. You can also get creative.
- Follow-Up Cadence:
- Days 1-7: Once every 24 hours
- Days 8-14: Once every 3 days
- Days 15-21: Once every 7 days
- Days 22-28: Once every 14 days
- After 28 days: Once every 14-28 days
